Introduction to bounding cochains of filtered A-infinity algebras

Abstract

The goal of this talk is to understand bounding cochains of filtered A-infinity algebras. Bounding cochains, introduced by Fukaya-- Oh--Ohta--Ono, are solutions of the Maurer--Cartan equation, and play an important role in Lagrangian Floer theory. Recently Fukaya restarted the Atiyah--Floer type conjecture, and there bounding cochains of filtered A -infinity algebras for Lagrangian immersions appear; hence bounding cochains might become important in Yang-Mills theory too. In this talk we will review very basic matters concerning bounding cochains.
